Enormous challenge
The Race Across Australia is in many ways a daunting challenge: to Thomas Bechter, Philipp Bonadimann, Wolfgang Wimmer and Juergen Egle - if necessary, Dietmar Dorn as a replacement driver to wait - steep climbs and dangerous descents, and the total darkness of the outback. The official World record on this track is 7 days 8 hours and 49 minutes and was established in 2007 by the Austrian long-distance cyclist Gerhard Gulewicz. This record will break the Vorarlberg team – as first hand cyclists. An official referee will be with the world record attempt.
